LOOKIE AT WHAT I MADE!!!!!!!

Hello there;  I hope every one out there in blog world are having a wonderful day. Here it is so beautiful out, very sunny breeze and not to hot out mid 70's. We are have a freeze warning tonight though, hope all my plants do well, I am going to have to find something to cover them up with.........    So yesterday I was reading some posts and on one,   which I am so sorry to say I don't remember which one because I have read so many, any way she had made a pumpkin out of a light bulb. It was so cute looking, I said to me, hey you can do that so I did.  he he he...  Oh and he turned out pretty good if I do say so myself.

 

I used old glass candle holders to hold the pumpkin in, I also used some raffia and moss, now the top of the candle was to big for the bulb, so I cut a roll of paper towel tubing and glued it in side the holder and hot glued the bulb to the top of it, And it worked out real great. I stuffed the raffia and moss in and around the candle to hide the tube. After I painted it and the funny not scary faces I made a bow with raffia and put a silk leaf with it. Now the mouth was not very good looking  just plain black, so I put in some tiny white teeth, and it looked much better. So what do you all think????  Did I do good????????  huh???????   Well??????

This is the one I am going to give to my first born daughter Heather, hope she likes him. He so wants to find a good home. I gave him a name, his name is.  Oscar Pits Pumpkin...  How cute is that for a name.......

Now this handsome one is for my second daughter Chas. She said she loves him, she stopped by this afternoon and I surprised her with him.  I also gave him a name also, and his name is... 

George Pie Pumpkin.   He is very excited to be going to a great home with very pretty girls.  I kind of messed up his mouth a bit, he just would not hold still for me. I think he was getting a little nervous about meeting his new room mate. But I think it just adds to his charm, don't you think.......

And one last family photo before they split to their new homes. I had such a fun time do this. I am thinking of make some more, at least one of me. I did not make me one, ha ha how about that..

I have a very large bulb I am going to use this time, just don't tell my hubby, it is a new one, geeee  hope we won't need it....... 

I am going to set him in a small grapevine wreath with some fall leafs vine. What do you think of that idea, if any one has any other ideas of how to use him please let me know, I love to receive ideas for others. It so helps out sometimes I run dry and out of ideas. And a fresh point of view is so welcome to me. That is why I love to blog and read and visit others. I glean so many fresh and interesting ideas and learn so much from each of you. I love how everyone loves to help and share ideas and then actually tells how they did it, instead of worrying about some one else making the same thing.  So from the bottom of my little ol" Heart I thank you all for sharing your ideas and thoughts and advise and support.  Boy am I getting mushy or what......  

I am sitting an watching a movie now, National Treasure 2 I love that movie and the first one too. OH and Fools Gold, I would love to go on a treasure hunt, how fun would that be.......   All that history just waiting to be found.  So I am off to watch that and to visit as many of you as I can.  I did some mowing today and cleaning so I am going to rest a bit before dinner. I think I am allowed don't you think??????   You gals are the best ever....  kisses to all....  Oh tomorrow I am going to start painting on a chair that I have to set outside and decorate, I will show photos of my progress. Hope it turns out ok.....   As always I wish to thank each of you that left comments you are all so very sweet and kind, even the ones that did not  you are all my best friends in the whole wide world........   lol;  Because I can't even imagine that any one would want to read what I have to say and think it is worth wile. OH I DID A BOO BOO LOL

I am so sorry every one, I posted my Halloween Swap goodies too soon. So I am posting them again. It was hosted by my new and sweet friend Heidi from foxgloves fabric and folly. I just love her blog, she is so sweet kind and helpful and funny. I just had the most fun in this Swap, my first one too. Now she is hosting another one called A Vintage Christmas Swap, which I am so excited to a part of. So every one hurry on over and sign up you won't be disappointed.

My swap partner was with Lisa Brown from Vintage Sweet Peas. I have never been to her blog until she became my swap pal. And I must say I just love her blog and posts. I am so happy to have a very new friend, that is what makes the swaps to wonderful that you get to meet a new friend. And I love meeting new and wonderful friends. So here is my Halloween Swap goodies she made for me and sent. She is so very talented and very generous. So thank you again Lisa, my new friend.

 

This little guy I just love, he is sitting by my front door greeting all who enter, I used to collect boyds bears until I ran out of room. So he fits right in, and the others are making him feel right at home.

Now this cute little guy sits on top of my tea cup shelves a sweet scarecrow on top of a pumpkin on top of a decorated box. He is having a great time up there, gazing down on every one, in my dinning room.

And this lovely witch I gave her a name, she is called Ester. She is just hanging around on my front light post. Keep a watchful eye on every thing, just below her sits a sweet scarecrow, and he is so very grateful for her above him to keep him safe.

She also sent me the magazine Country Living, I love that mag. She made the most cute and wonderful vintage Halloween tags. I am so sorry I did not get a good shot of them, they are so nice.

I also did not think to take a photo of the goodies I sent to her, again I did a BOO BOO.. HE HE.   So pop on over to visit her and see her swap goodies. I hope she liked hers as much as I loved mine.  I thank you again Lisa for the thought you put in to this just for me. You are a great new friend. Whom I will treasure for ever.

MY TO DO LIST IS GROWING

Hello there; how is every one doing? I hope every one had a wonderful weekend. I have been busy the past couple of days, trying to get some projects done or started.  I will show you what I have lined up so far.  Ready......

Now in the first photo, the lamp is for my one Daughter Chas, I am going to do a mosaic  the top and bottom of the lamp I sprayed painted it a hammered black, it is so great looking. And the child's chair is my Daughter Heather's I am going to paint it and then do a  mosaic on the back and seat. In the bottom photo the blue green chest is mine and I am going to paint it a creamy white, along with my duck wire basket , not sure what to do with my wooden tool box. Oh and the small green curio cabinet I am painting it  what else, a creamy white,  with the back  I am decoupage scrapbook paper on it or fabric, what ever I find that I like the best.

 

This floor mirror I am not sure what color I am painting it, but the bottom of it I plan on doing a mosaic on it. I have plans to put it out in my garden somewhere for yard art. I also have two wood chairs to do, and my two pillow shams to finish and finish the knitted throw.  So that is about it, so far.  I will let you all know when I get one done and take a finished photo of it. I really need to be pushed, or I will get lazy about it. You know.. there is always tomorrow...  lol;  Well with the holidays fast approaching I really need to get it in to high gear. 

I have been looking at pumpkins and wow they are not cheap, almost four dollars for just one med sized one. I am going to plant some next spring so I can have my own. I am going to really have to do some hunting for a good buy I guess. Or buy some fake ones.  Is there a pumpkin shortage, is that way they are so much to buy....  I mean  they don't cost that much to grow, do they?  Am I being silly about it?  Yea I guess I am, oh will  you know I will buy some any way.  Ok enough of the pumpkin crisis.

Does any one remember the post about my fur babies eating my Mums?  Well I took some photos to share with you, I warn you it is really shocking and sad. So if you have a week tummy then turn away now.

  

Well I warned you. this is all that is left of them. I feel so bad for the two rust color ones that are left.  They look so lonely. Don't they. I will have to go and find some this weekend, and hope they don't play with the new ones. I need to put up a fence to keep them out.  hey would it be bad if I put up a electric fence...  no ok maybe that is a bad idea.  I hear that duct tape is good for all things, how about that.......  no  can't do that either.. oh well darn. I will find some thing legal to do.  lol  wink wink..

MY WEEKEND

Good Afternoon Dear Friends. I hope everyone is having a wonderful Sunday. My weekend  is going very well for once. It started on Friday night, after hubby and I ate we set out side and lit our chimneypot, and had a glass of wine, and watched the kids who live behind us play. The day was very sunny and cool crisp. The evening was just the same, then the kids went home and all was quite, except for the crackling of the wood  the smell of the wood burning and all the fall scents. All the creatures of the night singing their songs to all.  It was just a perfect night. Saturday was our lazy day, it usually is our busy day, but I woke up in pain so I did not do much at all. When I have those days it seems like I wasted away a good day. I don't feel very good about that, but what can you do, but go with the flow.  Now Sunday is going a little better, this morning hubby put a fire on for me, it was very cozy with the fire, and cool Sunny morning, having coffee. When we can't make it to Church we listen to it on the computer hubby down loads the sermon. I love that we can do that.

Now I am doing some knitting and embroidery, and blogging and watching NASCAR.  I love my Nascar, #48 all the way. yeaaaa rahhh sis boom baa..   sorry I do get carried away, some times I get really loud and scare my poor baby girls. They look at daddy as if to say, what is wrong with Mommy..   I do feel bad when they jump and duck for cover. ha ha

Well that was my weekend, nothing very exciting just dull ad uneventful, which I just love. It is my kind of weekend.  I want to thank you all for you wonderful comments you so kindly leave me. PINK SATURDAY PRETTIES

Pretty pink Saturday is here again. I am so sorry for putting my pink pretties on so late, having a very slow day. ha ha

This wall hanging was made my by grand daughter Caileigh for grandparents day, I just love it.

I found this old Sunbonnet Sue quilt in a thrift store in Arizona,

for only ten dollars, just love it.

And this is my foot stool I found this on the side of the road a long time ago down by my mother in laws house. It was in real bad shape so I found this real pretty fabric and redid it, painted the legs a off white. it turned out pretty good.

FUR BABIES GOTTA LOVE THEM

Now I ask you are these not the sweetest innocent faces....

Well don't let them fool you, behind the cute face's are very sneaky and naughty girls. I swear they are like two year olds you can't turn you back on them or they will get you.  Or what ever they find.  The Mums I so carefully planted out  by my patio oh how pretty they looked.  Notice I said Looked,  we they are not there any more, just small bits of them.  My cute little fur babies decided to have some fun with them.  I went out one day and found them with the flowers all over the yard. If I were not so upset, it would have been funny. Gracie Bell with my Mums in her mouth, and Isabella rolling around in the rest.  Now I have to replant some more, I am going to put up a fence to keep them out, I hope. lol 

Then this morning, while being lazy drinking my coffee, I heard Gracie Bell  chewing on something she  that did not sound right. So I got up and looked and she had part of my book in her mouth. I was so mad at her, I found the rest under my sofa, she tore up the back cover and the book mark was in small pieces. 

But you know it is so hard to stay mad at them when they look at you with their big brown eyes, saying I am so sorry Mommy. So I caved in. Poor Isabella she was looking like I am so glad it was not me this time.  ha ha . 

Well I am almost done with one of my pillow shams, I am embroidering  Pink roses on the front, the shams are white, and I am starting on my Christmas gifts for family, I have a lamp I am doing a mosaic on, Oh and I found a really great looking Chandelier a four arm one. I have a four poster bed  with rails on and it will be hanging in the middle of the bed. I am putting up sheer curtains on the bed rails. But first I have to spray paint it white. I will take photos of it when it is all done. I can't wait to get it all done.

Today at Walley world I found some really get blue yarn, to knit a throw for my niece Brandee.  I also have to finish other projects .  I am getting down right busy now. But I do like it. HAPPY WENSDAY EVERY ONE

Good afternoon to all; It is October already, wow I can't believe how fast this year went. It seems like every year is going by faster and faster. When I was littler time just seem to stand still and I thought I would ever grow up. lol;  Wish I knew then what I know now, I would have not wished it so much.  Then when I finally turned 21 time just flew by, and now look at me. I am 50 with 11 grand children. lol  smiling..  My memories are so clear in my mind that I can see and yes even smell the past. I know that sounds silly but I can. Some smells you can not forget. Like the way my Grandmother  kitchen smelled when she would make her world famous sugar cookies, our home when Mom and Dad would set up our Christmas tree, the real kind. And the way my Daddy smelled with his Old Spice cologne when I would be afraid of some silly thing and he would hold me close to make me feel better. Some times I would get a sent of something that would take me way back, such wonderful memories or a song. They would trigger a memory would come flooding back.

  As I get older I sometime's worry that I will be forgetting them as time moves on. Too bad that there is not a way to keep those kind of memories alive and put time in a book or box to take out and visit. Like we do a scrapbook with photos.  So the next best thing I can think of is to write them down and describe them as best I can, so if and when my mind does not remember so well I can pull out my book of scents and smell. The good ones... ha ha

Have any of you seen the movie The Note Book. I just love that movie, it has inspired me to keep one of my own lest I forget. To loose one's memories is a most heart breaking thing. I so pray for a cure.  Ok I am done being so down in the mouth. Sorry fo that,  I am in need of all your prayers again. I am not going in to detail, the Lord knows, but my family is in such turmoil now, that I am so upset and worried. So please keep my family in your prayers I thank you all so much for this. They say bad things come in threes... well I have that beat. Not that is an award I don't wish to have.  he he he..  trying to keep my two chins up.

  ok now I have some photos to show every one, of my Halloween Swap. I am loving them all, and found homes for them in my house and out side too.  They are all from my Swap partner Lisa Brown  Vintage Sweet Peas.

 

Now this little Pumpkin Bear sits by my front door to greet family and friends when they stop by. I collect boyds bears and this one fits in so great with the rest. They are making him feel so at home.

This cute Scarecrow sits on a sweet pumpkin that sits on a pretty round box. And they all sit up on my tea cup books shelf. He loves sitting  up there to gaze down upon every one and everything.  Keeping a watchful eye. he is so sweet.

 

My interesting Witch here is hanging on my light post in my front yard. Underneath is my sweet small scarecrow, he feels so much safer with her hanging up above him. She looks right at home hanging there. Don't you think......

Lisa also sent me a wonderful array of  vintage scrapbook halloween tags. I can't wait to make some pages with these they are all so different and unique. I love them all. Lisa did a great job on making them. She also sent me the Country Living fall magazine, I love the issue so many wonderful things in side. and she also sent me a pumpkin cookies cutter, which I am sorry I did not get a photo of, but it is very cute. I am going to make my Grandmas sugar cookies with it. yummyyyyy  Those with a nice cup of tea on my patio with a fire going, now how can life get any better than that I ask you.
